Liner Notes: Demonschool
Face your gangster-demon-zombie problems with friends
This month’s podcast was on, of course, Demonschool. We were less than positive on the battle system and RPG systems side of the game, with me puzzling out why it didn’t click and Toben ready go to with his review sorted, but in the end really dug the game’s world, characters, and aesthetic.
Check out the usual cadre of ephemera via links below.
Show Notes
The body building character I couldn’t remember the name of in our conversation was Ti, and she is awesome. See a character trailer here from Brandon Sheffield and Ysbryd Games (the publisher) and a short as well (Ti isn’t a part of it, but I think an introduction to the characters is a great idea, as characters are a clear strength of Demonschool).

OST and Others
The game’s original soundtrack by Kurt Feldman, of Triple Click podcast fame (as well as being an accomplished composer), is linked above. I really like the synth-based beats, and the eerie/90’s vibe it can sometimes bring (fitting, given when the game is set). “Weekend” is pure Persona (inspired, but I could swear it’s got serious similarities if you’re a fan, which is probably the point). And extra points for having a DRM-free version of the soundtrack out there via Bandcamp. You can also find the OST in all the regular streaming places.
Developer Diaries
I wasn’t aware and found this as I was writing the liner notes. But Necrosoft game has put out a series of developer diaries on steam. Worth it if you want some in-depth looks at various aspects of the game before diving in.
I don’t see any speed runs yet, but can add them as they become available, as I’m sure they will.
Let us know what you think of Demonschool in the comments.
Thanks for reading and listening! March’s podcast is on Dredge, or if you prefer, Cthulhu Fishing Simulator. Catch you then!
