Liner Notes: Classic Aladdin (SNES and Genesis)
Apples to Apples
Hi Everyone,
This is the liner notes for our second-running Super Combo Cast, this month on Classic Aladdin (both the SNES and Sega Genesis versions). In our tradition started with the first podcast on Into the Breach the links can vary a bit near the end, where we take a tangential dive into modern stuff Toben has been playing with Elden Ring, as well as next month (March’s) game Nobody Saves the World, but for a while this will be supplemental material to our discussion on classic Aladdin. I hope if anything piques your interest we provided a a link for it. If not, reach out about whatever caught your ear and we’ll add a link here if we have one.

Where to buy Aladdin SNES the physical cartridge and the Sega Genesis version. I also recommend trying your local shops, as either version of the game was pretty popular. Chances are someone around you has one. And eBay prices can’t sometimes be the worst. Buying retro games new is a huge price increase, so definitely look at second-hand.

The Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo sales of each game from our not systematic perusing on the internet: Genesis and SNES. Wikipedia has it a bit lower than the numbers we found prior to recording, but with the same rankings for each game.
*4 million not 8 million in sales
*SNES Aladdin is #26

Hagane and Contra III are difficult games on the SNES.

8bitdo is a company doing their best to replicate SNES controllers for modern consoles (besides making excellent Switch controllers and others), as well as making wireless compatible original SNES controller adapters.

Various adapters including the SNES classic (Wii nunchuk port) controllers to SNES at raphnet.
Shorter liner notes this month because I’ve kept out our big tangents. There will be much more Elden Ring content coming in the next few months. Check out Nobody Saves the World streaming.
